Day 8…only two more days left. Congrats on sticking with it for the past seven days.
The warm up for the day is posture 6 in the Baduanjin qigong set. This posture is called “Two Hands Hold the Feet to Strengthen the Kidneys and Waist”. This movement is said to stretch the spine and lower back. It is also said to balance the organs in the lower abdomen. Also as the name implies this movement also works to balance all aspects of the kidneys.
The posture for day 8 in the Zhan Zhuan set is the same as last weeks. Today is a review day which helps us integrate the posture’s better into our muscle memory. Hopefully after the previous posture, this posture and the last few Baduanjin sets your shoulder and neck areas are opening up which allows you to really relax into these last two Zhan Zhuang postures.
Now its time for the cool down today….enjoy!
Here are some tips from the video:
• Each position is a progression from the last, so work up to about 20 minutes in each posture before moving onto the next.
• Make sure to warm up before, and relax after, each exercise.
• When your stamina has improved, try standing for 5 minutes each in all 5 positions. It’s hard work, so please be patient and do stop if you feel faint or too hot!
