Here we go…Day 7. Today we will cycle through warm ups, standing posture, and cool down. Similar to the last six days but different.
Warm up for day 7 involves the fifth posture in the Baduanjin set which is called “Sway the head and shake the tail”. This posture in the set is supposed to regulate the heart and lungs. It releases excess heat in the heart.
The Zhan Zhuang posture today is a new one. We are onto the fourth posture which is called “standing in the stream” . This is another posture that some people might find a little difficult. Make sure you sink the shoulders repeatedly which will help keep the fatigue and tension off your shoulders.
And last but not least its time to do the close down.
Here is some tips for the video:
• Each position is a progression from the last, so work up to about 20 minutes in each posture before moving onto the next.
• Make sure to warm up before, and relax after, each exercise.
• When your stamina has improved, try standing for 5 minutes each in all 5 positions. It’s hard work, so please be patient and do stop if you feel faint or too hot!
